Weddings and Special Events

We've started taking wedding bookings again, for weddings from June 2022 and onwards. You'll have to follow all the relevant health precautions at the time if your wedding (naturally.) And unfortunately we have to reserve the right to cancel your booking if changes in the public health guidelines mean we can no longer host you. (Updated February 21, 2022)

Weddings at CBC

Interior, Christian Baptist Church, Newmarket Ontario
Credit: AGI Studio
We are blessed with a beautiful Gothic Revival style church that is every bride's dream! A long isle and sloped sanctuary gives everyone a great view. With seating for over 200 people and spectacular stained glass windows, it is the perfect setting for your church wedding.

While we are not fully wheelchair accessible, we do have a lift for those with limited mobility and an audio headset system for the hard of hearing. See our Accessibility page for details.

We do require that all couples married in our building attend a series of marriage counselling sessions, but don't worry - Pastor Andrew is a great guy!
For further information, including pricing and availability, please contact our church office.

Recitals & Music at CBC

Interior Christian Baptist Church, Newmarket, Ontario
Our sloped floor, seating for over 200 people, and excellent acoustics make this a popular place for musical recitals.
Our choir loft seats over 40 people, and the front of the stage can be cleared for small group performances that everyone can see.

For further information, including pricing and availability, please contact our church office.

The Maple Leaf Forever!

Alexander Muir Window, Christian Baptist Church, Newmarket Ontario
On September 29th, 2012 we were joined by His Honour the Honourable David Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, The Newmarket Citizens Band, Alexander Muir Public School Choir, and many dignitaries to celebrate the dedication of a new stained glass window in honour of our former organist and choir director, Alexander Muir.   Alexander Muir was of course also a local school-master and the composer of The Maple Leaf Forever. One of its first public performances took place at the laying of the cornerstone of our church by Lord Dufferin, Governor General of Upper Canada, June 25, 1874.
